Please note: There is no photography training on this course. It is aimed at those who already possess good camera skills but realise the critical importance of good dark room skills. Over the duration of the course we go right from basic Lightroom to advanced Photoshop and cover everything you need to be competent in the wonderful world of a modern day dark room.
Although the techniques learned on this course can be applied to any style of photography, the course is primarily aimed towards architecture photography.
On the first day we will familiarise ourselves with Lightroom and how it all hangs together. We then start with basic global editing before moving on to the more advanced processing techniques that Lightroom is capable of. Most people at this point can't believe how powerful a package this is and how straight forward it is to get to grips with.
During the second day we are introduced to Photoshop and why it differs from Lightroom. We then learn about the importance of working non destructively using it's core concept... masks and layers. At this point we can start layering up basic powerful adjustments giving us an insight into just how powerful it really is.
On the third day we start working with more advanced Photoshop techniques, tools such as luminosity masks, managing selections, advanced cloning, layer grouping, distortion control and even some special effects along the way.
This is a non residential course but If you don't live near enough to travel each day then we can supply a list of local hotel options. By prior arrangement we can even pickup/dropoff at your hotel daily if you don't have your own transport. Travelling to Falkirk by public transport is very straight forward.
As with all my courses, the atmosphere is very relaxed, fun and friendly. The course content is constantly adjusted to exactly suit the needs of each individual group of students.
Exact times will be supplied nearer the start date but each day normally runs from around 10am until 4pm.
You are welcome to bring along your own images to practice with or can even use some of mine.
Relevant notes are provided throughout the course.
