For anyone interested in architecture photography this courses does it in detail. The first day is spent learning to use our cameras correctly and allowing us to capture optimal quality images of some of Scotlands most interesting buildings. The 2nd and 3rd days are then spent in the classroom learning professional quality post processing techniques which not only suit this type of photography but all other styles as well.
The first day consists of a trip to Glasgow(transport provided) enabling us to capture the images we will then use for the post processing element of the workshop. During the day we cover the basics of full manual camera control including long exposure techniques. We keep building on this throughout the day to ensure everyone fully understands and uses optimal camera settings comfortably. Many people at this point are very surprised as to how straight forward this type of photography actually is. Next we introduce bracketing techniques which allow shooting in any light and still be in total control of the scene.
The second day is classroom based where we will familiarise ourselves with Lightroom and how it all hangs together in great detail. We then start with basic global editing before moving on to the more advanced local processing techniques that Lightroom is capable of. Most people at this point can't believe how powerful a package this is but how straight forward it is to get to grips with.
During the third day we are introduced to Photoshop and why it differs from Lightroom. We then learn about the importance of working non destructively using it's core concept... masks and layers. At this point we can start layering up basic powerful adjustments giving us an insight into just how powerful it really is.
This is a non residential course but If you don't live near enough to travel each day then we can supply a list of local hotel options. By prior arrangement we can even pickup/dropoff at your hotel daily if you don't have your own transport. Travelling to Falkirk by public transport is very straight forward.
As with all my courses, the atmosphere is very relaxed, fun and friendly. The course content is constantly adjusted to exactly suit the needs of each individual group of students.
Exact times will be supplied nearer the start date but photography days usually start quite early whereas classroom days normally run from around 10am until 4pm.
Relevant notes are provided throughout the course.
